Riffle♪ The 2026 Library
Riffle — Nº01 / About

One deck,dealt twenty-twoways.

Riffle photographs objects the way a record label photographs a sleeve: once, properly, and always as part of a set. The 2026 Library is twenty-two of them, lit on the same near-black sweep and graded on the same curve.

The set

Twenty-two objects, one light.

Every frame is square, shot on the same sweep and graded with one shared curve. Nothing is retouched to stand out.

House rules
01

Photograph it once.

One sitting per object, on one sweep, under one key light. If a picture needs a different room to work, the object is wrong, not the room.

02

Nothing decorative.

No props, no gradient standing in for a set, no type doing an impression of type. What is left is the object, its name, and what it costs.

03

Motion is a material.

The deck moves the way a physical thing moves: sprung, weighted, reversible. Every formation plays backwards exactly as it played forwards.

Riffle started in 2019 as a shelf of things we kept re-photographing for other people. The brief was always the same and always ignored: keep the set together. Eventually we stopped asking and started keeping our own.

Today it is four people, one sweep, and a standing rule that nothing enters the library until it can be shot in a single afternoon. What survives that gets a number. What does not goes back on the shelf.

Come and see the set.
